Navy loses control of UAV for 20 minutes

Drones have their limitations. Hopefully they will never have a mind of their own.

The Navy did say that the drone got within 40 miles of Washington before operators were able to re-establish communication and guide it back to its base in southern Maryland… The Navy is calling the problem a “software issue” that foiled the drone’s operators

This is a little unnerving. A pilot-less aircraft flew itself 23 miles into the restricted airspace surrounding Washington, D.C.. Maybe they didn’t ask nicely. Or maybe one of these days, Skynet will become self-aware
